PARCHMENT, Mich. — After residents in Parchment raised concerns about vehicle break-ins and auto thefts in their neighborhoods, News Channel 3 asked the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department for answers about crime trends, enforcement efforts and what residents can do to protect themselves.
Township of Kalamazoo Police Chief Darien Smith was not available for an interview but provided written responses to News Channel 3’s questions.
Smith said his department has not seen a significant recent increase in vehicle break-ins or auto thefts specifically in the City of Parchment.
