KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Monday marks the start of the $21 million transformation of Kalamazoo Avenue into a two-way road.
According to the city of Kalamazoo, work will start on Westnedge Avenue and move one block at a time. The goal is to create a safer, more connected road through the downtown area.
The project includes improvements both above and below ground. Some of the changes include resurfacing the road and converting it into two-way traffic, adding new sidewalks and traffic signals and replacing the existing water main.
What to expect with Kalamazoo Avenue conversion project
