Germantown Man Charged After DUI Collision Kills Woman on Mobility Scooter

A Germantown man is facing charges after a woman injured in an alleged DUI crash earlier this month died from her injuries, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The crash occurred around 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, at the intersection of 14th Street and Independence Avenue SW in Washington, DC. Investigators say 79-year-old Virginia Voight, of Palmyra, New Jersey, was riding a motorized electric mobility scooter through the crosswalk when a white 2016 Ford F-150 turned right and struck her.
