VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego County public health officials are asking anyone who may have had direct contact with a bat at a Vista restaurant last weekend to seek medical advice after the animal tested positive for rabies.
According to the County Communications Office, the possible exposure happened around 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 19 when a family was eating lunch at The Yellow Deli, located at 315 E Broadway Street. The bat reportedly landed on their table.
Officials said another customer at the restaurant used to a towel to collect bat before taking it to the San Diego Humane Society’s Oceanside Campus. The animal was later delivered to the county’s Public Health Lab, where it tested positive for rabies…
