Salt Lake Youth Group Helps Restore Historic Price Church for Community Use

PRICE — Armed with brooms, mops and a desire to serve, a group of middle and high school students from Salt Lake City spent several days this week helping restore the historic Price United Methodist Church, transforming cluttered rooms into welcoming spaces the congregation hopes will once again become a hub for community activities.

The youth group from Wasatch Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake City’s Sugar House neighborhood traveled to Price with six students and three adult volunteers for a week of service. Led by Kate, the group devoted its time to cleaning, organizing and hauling away years of accumulated clutter throughout the church.

“Our kids usually do really intense service projects in Salt Lake City, and they wanted to go a little further out,” Kate said. “Our ultimate goal is to help get the building back in regular use.”…
