An early morning house fire on Wednesday, July 15th, badly injured two people and displaced five in Brentwood–Darlington – and then the same gutted house caught fire again just two days later.
Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R) crews were dispatched at about 6:50 a.m. to the first fire at 7604 S.E. 65th Avenue, just south of S.E. Flavel Street, where people were reportedly unable to escape a burning home.
Lents Station 11 arrived to find heavy fire and thick black smoke at the back of the house, with the rear deck burning. One woman in the backyard had burns on her legs. While some firefighters advanced lines to the rear and side, others pushed inside the house for an aggressive knockdown and searched for victims, as dark smoke boiled from the attic…
