(KRON) — An alleged DUI driver in Petaluma led police on a pursuit last week, traveling at almost double the speed limit, according to authorities.
A Petaluma Police Department officer saw the driver around 11:10 p.m. on Thursday “driving at an extremely high rate of speed traveling eastbound on East Washington Street at the Highway 101 overpass,” authorities said. When the officer attempted to pull over the driver using their lights and sirens, the driver continued to speed and ran a red light, according to police.
The police pursuit continued on for nearly a mile and reached speeds of around 70 mph, Petaluma PD said.
