The Treasure Valley is expected to continue seeing smoky air for the time being, but what’s expected to change in the coming days is where the smoke will come from.
“We keep getting smoke from different angles,” Korri Anderson, meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Boise, told the Idaho Press on Monday morning. “Over the last few weeks, westerly winds have blown in smoke from wildfires in Oregon and the Owyhees. Today, the wind has shifted, so the smoke is coming from fires north of Weiser.”
Another high-pressure trough is setting up, which will create more northerly winds and send smoke from Washington and British Columbia down to southwestern Idaho, Anderson said, adding that this smoke could be thicker…
