Amid reports of a toxic environment at Frankford High, its longtime principal moves on to another school

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The longtime principal of Frankford High is moving to another school following reports of a “toxic” atmosphere at Frankford.

Michael Calderone had been the principal at Frankford High School for more than a decade, leading the school while its central building was closed for two years for asbestos remediation.

However, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the school district launched an audit of Frankford earlier this year after staffers complained that Calderone struck a student who had assaulted teachers. The audit also found that Calderone, during a budget squeeze, disregarded seniority and cut the jobs of teachers who criticized him, the Inquirer reported…
