A new novelty shop opened at 1731 L St. in midtown. The store sells specialty candles, science-themed knick-knacks and Italian charm bracelets, the owner Korin Friesen told The Bee.

The store first started as a pop-up at the midtown farmer’s market in 2023. Its merchandise is from local vendors across Sacramento, Friesen said. Ginger & Raven is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, noon to 9 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays, according to the business’s social media.
