Syracuse Man Charged After Using Forged Inspection Sticker on I-81 in Homer, State Police Say

A Syracuse man is facing misdemeanor charges after New York State Police said he was found driving with a forged inspection sticker and a revoked license during a traffic stop on Interstate 81.

According to State Police, a trooper on patrol observed a 2013 Subaru Legacy committing vehicle and traffic law violations just before noon on August 6 in the town of Homer and initiated a traffic stop.

The investigation determined the Subaru did not have a valid inspection. Department of Motor Vehicles records showed the vehicle’s inspection had expired in 2024, police said.
