Iowa sales tax holiday: not all back-to-school items qualify

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Iowa’s sales tax holiday runs from Friday, August 7 to Saturday, August 8 for consumers to get some relief from paying extra ahead of school starting. However, the rules for which purchases qualify are particular.

Lisa Brislawn, owner of the recently rebranded LaLa B’s Boutique in Cedar Rapids’ Czech Village, said most of the clothing items she sells will be rung up without sales tax this weekend.
