SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Leaders of the New York State Fair are defending changes to security despite two exhibits skipping this year’s event because of the new limitations on vehicle access.
The Fair is now banning most vehicular traffic within the State Fairgrounds for most of the day, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Previously, vehicles given inside access were able to get too close to crowds and bypass security screening.
Pictures from last year’s event, provided by the Fair, show tractor trailers and other vehicles surrounded by crowds of people.
