Portland mayor prepared to declare emergency over Centennial Mills collapse threat

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Portland Mayor Keith Wilson is prepared to declare a state of emergency if Union Pacific resumes freight train operations near the Centennial Mills warehouse, which caught fire last Sunday and is now considered an imminent collapse threat.

The investigation into the cause of the fire—and possible human remains found at the scene—remains ongoing and cannot be completed until the building is demolished, officials said Monday.
