ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A TV tower worker was rescued after suffering a medical emergency while working in the heat 275 feet above the ground. First responders brought the employee down safely and the worker was transported to a local hospital where they are expected to recover.
The high-angle rescue was coordinated by the Rockford Fire Department, which utilizes specialized technical rescue teams. The department operates as part of the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System, a network whose members train specifically for complex emergency operations.
