PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY)- Navy Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) is turning up the volume with Operation MWR, a worldwide concert series bringing free, live entertainment to Service members and their families at 50 Navy installations through April 2027, including Naval Station Norfolk later this month.
Following successful concerts featuring Kane Brown and Russell Dickerson at Naval Air Station Pensacola in April and Brett Young at Naval Base Guam in June, the series picks up in earnest on August 8 at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island with Fitz and the Tantrums and special guest Alana Springsteen.
Operation MWR is an enterprise-wide resiliency program that provides Service members and their families opportunities to recharge, connect and enjoy time together.
