ST. LOUIS – We have scattered showers and a few weak storms across the area early Sunday morning. These should push out over the next few hours. We’ll see a mix of clouds and sunshine this afternoon, along with one last day of dangerous heat and humidity along and south of the I-70 corridor. Highs will reach the low to mid-90s, with heat index values between 105 and 109 degrees.

Scattered storms may develop Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening ahead of an advancing cold front. We’re also watching the remnants of a complex of storms in Kansas, which could help spark additional thunderstorm development. There is an isolated risk for severe wind gusts through the late afternoon and evening. However, the exact location and coverage of storms remain highly uncertain at this point.
The cold front will move through Sunday night and bring widespread relief from the dangerous heat. We’ll see decreasing clouds Monday, with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Temperatures will climb to near 90 degrees Tuesday.
Rain and storm chances increase Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with another round possible Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning…
