Providence to open nearly 100 new patient beds in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Providence is expected to step up its bed capacity to meet a growing demand, the health organization announced Tuesday.

The Providence Portland Medical Center will open 96 new patient beds starting the first week of September, with more beds expected to open next year.

The units will fill two unfinished floors of the Providence Portland cancer tower. The hospital said this upgrade will better meet the needs of its community.
