Saline City Council approved the purchase of a Ford F-150 for city use at the Aug. 17 meeting. The cost is not to exceed $55,000, including the charge of any work necessary to make the vehicle usable for the city.
“Over the last four months, it’s been difficult to locate a vehicle to use for the day-to-day activities,” DPS Director Brandon McNeil said. “Mainly, it becomes troublesome when I go to work sites. I don’t have strobes or city badging to alert people who I am when I’m approaching the job site. I can’t pull off safely on the side of the road, and so I’ve been trying to jump in as many DPW vehicles that I can, but at times they need them, and again, it’s just making a little difficult.”
