Sequel Patterson’s electric playmaking could solve South Carolina’s WR depth woes

The South Carolina Gamecocks suffered some big losses at the receiver position early in fall camp. Just over a week after South Carolina began preparing for the season, sixth-year head coach Shane Beamer announced that receivers Jayden Sellers and Jayden Gibson would be out for the season after both guys suffered lower-leg injuries.

The news is a blow to South Carolina’s offense at receiver, who will now have to turn more heavily to returning veterans like Nyck Harbor Harbor, as well Mazeo Bennett Jr., DJ Black and Purdue transfer Nitro Tuggle.

One other guy who could see the field early on in his career with the injuries is true freshman receiver Sequel Patterson. Although the Fort Mill., S.C. native has been on campus for just a couple of months, he is already turning heads in practice…
