Vero Beach man arrested on attempted murder charge following birthday party

VERO BEACH – A 25-year-old Vero Beach man was arrested on July 17 on charges including attempted murder after a birthday party ended and no one would take him to a local bar, according to an arrest affidavit.

Collin Ryan Smith, 25, of the 4900 block of Corsica Square in Vero Beach, was booked into the Indian River County Jail on July 17 at 3:49 a.m.

Smith was in the Indian River County Jail as of July 21 on no bond for possession of a weapon/ammunition by a convicted felon, according to the jail web site. He also faces $150,000 bond for attempted murder; $50,000 bond for two counts of battery by strangulation; $25,000 bond for aggravated battery; $5,000 bond for criminal mischief; $5,000 bond each for DUI, driving while license suspended and refusal to submit to a DUI testing and possession of drug paraphernalia…
