SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Every day of Black History Month, KSLA is shining a spotlight on African Americans who have made significant contributions to the community. Lamesa Furlow Fleury is a counselor at Eden Gardens Magnet School. She was named Caddo Parish Elementary Counselor of the Year in 2021. In 2023, Fleury was named the Louisiana Elementary State Counselor of the Year.
