MINDEN, La. (KSLA) – Minden police Sgt. Reece Tewell has been honored with a Life Saving Award for jumping into action after a deputy was hit by a vehicle. On Tuesday, Jan. 30, Tewell was headed home from his shift when he heard a call that an officer had been seriously injured on U.S. 371. He says he was in a hurry to respond to the incident and discovered the victim was his longtime friend Sgt. Aaron Barnes with the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office.
