CLEVELAND, Ohio — Ohio law generally bars cities from imposing firearm regulations stricter than state law.

Cleveland, Columbus, Akron and Toledo are using other municipal powers to address firearm violence, including funding neighborhood organizations, distributing voluntary storage equipment and supporting programs that intervene before or after shootings.
