MOREAU, N.Y. (NEWS10)– A Saratoga County medical examiner is now ruling a 64-year-old woman’s manner of death as a homicide after a fire last week, New York State Police said. The fire happened on June 2 in Moreau.

On June 2, around 11 p.m. emergency crews were dispatched to a fully involved fire at 270 Old Saratoga Road. Upon arrival, crews were able to remove one person from the burning home, but the fire victim later died from their injuries, according to NYSP.
Detectives determined that a second person was found dead inside the house after the fire was put out.
Those victims were later identified as David Book, 70, and his wife Nancy Book, 64. According to state police, an autopsy of the couple conducted at Saratoga Hospital revealed their causes of death to be asphyxia due to inhaling smoke and heated products of combustion, due to the fire…
