Guilderland High School water retention pond overflows, causes floor damage

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (WNYT) — Flooding at Guilderland High School sent firefighters and school workers into hours of cleanup after another round of heavy rain.

Firefighters were at Guilderland High School responded to the school at around 8 p.m. School offiicals told NewsChannel 13 that the water retention pond overflowed, causing flooding outside and inside the building. They said the flooding was worse than last week because a large amount of rain fell in a short period of time.

School workers were still using a pump to move water out of the parking lot, grass area and away from the school. They said they expect floor damage inside the school as cleanup continues…
