ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– Seven people have been temporarily displaced after a fire broke out at an apartment building Sunday on Clinton Avenue. According to Albany Fire Chief Joseph Gregory, the fire was contained to the first-floor apartment.

According to Gregory, the fire department was dispatched to 291 Clinton Avenue between Lark Street and Henry Johnson Boulevard around 5:22 p.m. Two minutes later, crews arrived at the 3-story, two-apartment, brick building.
Gregory said firefighters found a kitchen fire in the first-floor apartment that had extended throughout the apartment and into the walls.
Crews began to attack the fire from inside and were able to knock down the bulk of the flames to contain it. Gregory said in the process, four adults and three children were displaced and are receiving aid from the American Red Cross.
According to the Red Cross, a total of nine residents are receiving emergency aid…
