More than 65 students take part in Lowrider Bike Program in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – What started with only a handful of students has grown to more than 65 kids working to build a meaningful piece of art. The City of Albuquerque’s Lowrider Bike Program gives kids a safe space to not only build custom pieces but also connect with role models.

One student said the program taught him the value of believing in himself. “I learned more about like having the actual time and like making time for this as well, cause all the lines and everything like the silver lines takes a lot of time…It helps people like learn how you can build something that you don’t think you actually could, cause I didn’t think that it would come out like this.
