RIO RANCHO — Puesta del Sol Elementary School is accepting applications for its new preschool program next school year.
The elementary school, located at 450 Southern Blvd., closed the first round of its lottery on May 31, but it still has slots available for children who will be 4 years old by Sept. 1, according to a Rio Rancho Public Schools social media post. Instruction begins Aug. 10.
The program has already filled 100 of the 142 slots, and the lottery will be open until the seats are filled, according to RRPS spokesperson Wyndham Kemsley. Families who submit applications following the lottery will be placed on a waitlist if additional seats open up throughout the school year…
