Downtown Albuquerque apparel shop burglarized overnight

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Another metro business is picking up the pieces after someone broke into their downtown shop.

2R1 Apparel ‘s downtown location was closed on Thursday after someone broke in overnight, making the shop one of the latest victims of burglary in Albuquerque. The owners, Jose Rodriquez and Sara Sandoval said after three years of being open, they have never had something like this happen to them. “It was a lot of hard work to get where we’re at, but in one night, it changed it all,” said Rodriquez.

According to the owners, the thieves threw a rock at the front window, but when it didn’t break, they broke the glass by the side of the front entrance. The thieves stole shoes, shirts, hats, makeup and more. The owners said they think damages will cost $15,000.
