Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – A man who was convicted in a fatal shooting during a drug deal in the parking lot of Coronado Mall will spend more than a decade behind bars.
A judge sentenced Angel Chavez to 16 years in prison for his role in the March 7th, 2021 shooting that killed Jayden Vallez in a mall parking lot. Investigators say Vallez agreed to meet Chavez and another teenager to sell drugs, when the deal turned violent and Vallez was shot and killed.
