BERNALILLO — Bernalillo High School was closed Tuesday morning due to “an active shooter assailant” reportedly near the school in the early morning hours, according to Bernalillo Public Schools Superintendent Matt Montano.
Montano said authorities learned of the incident well before instruction began and they asked BPS to keep the high school closed during the investigation.
BPS posted on social media that the high school was on a two-hour delay and instructed families not to be on campus until they are notified. As of 8:45 a.m., school was still closed and the investigation remained ongoing…
