ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The arrest of two men during a New Mexico State Police operation in Albuquerque on April 6 led to the recovery of stolen guns, police announced Tuesday.
New Mexico State Police auto theft agents were at a gas station near San Pedro Drive and Central Avenue and noticed a man in the backseat of a white Chevy Tahoe, later identified as Mario Garcia, appeared to pull out a gun while shouting at a homeless male, state police said.

Agents followed the Tahoe and conducted a traffic stop and found the front-seat passenger, identified as D-Andre Fortune, had a gun in his waistband. A check revealed the gun had been reported stolen, and a criminal history check confirmed Fortune had a prior felony conviction within the past ten years.
Agents also saw another handgun in the back seat of the vehicle where Garcia had been sitting. That gun was also stolen out of Gallup, state police said…
