ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The former Edgewood Police Chief is firing back at the Bernalillo County Sheriff after the sheriff condemned his handling of an investigation into an officer’s misconduct. Earlier this week, the sheriff vehemently defended his decision to hire that officer.

BCSO Sheriff defends deputy, condemns recent KRQE Investigation
Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen brought up Edgewood Police’s prior administration more than a dozen times during a news conference he called on Tuesday. He claimed that prior leadership had retaliated against their former officer, James Walker, now a deputy with BCSO.
Albuquerque Attorney Tom Grover is now representing former Edgewood Police Chief Roger Jimenez, as well as Synergy, the independent investigator who conducted the Internal Affairs investigation into Walker. They’re now calling Sheriff Allen’s statements about former leadership “meandering, false, and reckless.”…
