Hackathon helping to find tech solutions to help New Mexico agriculture

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) — Tech experts of all ages squared off this weekend in the state’s largest hackathon. Sunday’s event focused on finding tech-based solutions for the agriculture sector.

Live music returns to the ABQ BioPark this summer

Teams used various data to identify ways to address food insecurity, reduce food waste, and improve food distribution efficiency. “It’s very important because these solutions they build, the teams actually have full ownership rights, and they can continue building,” said New Mexico Tech Talks cofounder Vicki Apodaca. “So I see this as something that really supports the local economic development and ecosystem with the tech community, because these people can keep building, basically develop a business out of whatever they’ve built.”
