[1] Second trial against Meta begins in New Mexico – The State of New Mexico is taking social media giant Meta back to court, this time arguing for major changes to how its platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, protect young people from dangers online. But Meta argues that those changes could force them to leave the state. The trial will continue on Tuesday morning and is expected to last three weeks.

[2] Bill offering extra resources to certain areas of ABQ passes city council despite pushback – A new ordinance passed by Albuquerque City Council could change how the city handles safety, homelessness and business districts. The designated enhanced safety zones would focus on commercial areas that see high crime rate, struggling infrastructure and heavy foot traffic. In those areas, the city would ramp up police patrols, behavioral health response and clean more frequently. Within those zones, it would also be illegal to sit, sleep, or camp. After hours of discussion, the bill passed on a 6-to-3 vote with amendments.

[3] Thunderstorm chances, cooler, & gusty weather around New Mexico – Overnight, upper level moisture increased across the region. This brings more scattered to widespread shower and storm chances starting Tuesday.
