RIO RANCHO — As a kid she frequented old-fashioned soda shops. Now, she owns the modern-day iteration of one.
It was fulfilling a dream for Awnya Boam, the new owner of Fiiz Drinks off of Pinetree Road and Southern Boulevard. Though she always wanted to own a soda shop, it wasn’t a popular idea until more recently, but it comes with a “dirty” popularity.
“(Soda shops) weren’t a super big thing 20 years ago, and then fast forward to now when dirty sodas are on the rise and a lot of millennials and the newer generation coming up, they prefer a non-alcoholic drink option,” she said…
