WASHINGTON — US Attorney for DC Jeanine Pirro is taking matters into her own hands when it comes to so-called teen takeovers in the District. During a press conference Friday, Pirro said her office was going to start prosecuting parents of minors involved in the takeovers.
Pirro has been raising the alarm about teen takeovers and youth curfews for months. Pirro says she’s talked with DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and DC Police about the curfew, but wants her office to be able to do more to tackle juvenile crime. She says some of the crimes connected to teen takeovers are out of her jurisdiction.
