Plans to turn former corporate campus into data center hub are dead in Lehigh County

Air Products is no longer pursuing the development of a massive data center campus on the site of its former global headquarters in Lehigh County.

The corporation confirmed to lehighvalleylive.com that it is abandoning plans to redevelop the site off Route 222 in Upper Macungie Township, west of Allentown. Air Products said in the statement that its deep roots in the community weighed on the decision.

The township’s zoning hearing board in May rejected arguments from Air Products that a data center campus should be permitted at the 194-acre site. Air Products has since let the deadline to appeal that decision lapse…
