This 300-Year-Old Mill Village Across the River from Bucks County Is Now an Arts Destination

An industrial village that spent two centuries grinding grain along the Delaware River now draws crowds for gallery openings, concerts and weddings, writes Nora Sinclair for My Family Travels.

The Prallsville Mills complex in Stockton, New Jersey, sits directly across the water from Bucks County, close enough that a Philadelphia day trip barely qualifies as a drive.

Its 10 buildings spread across roughly 10 acres, and the oldest thread of the story runs back to around 1720, when Daniel Howell put up a wooden grist mill and let Wickecheoke Creek do the work…
