A Coopersburg, Pennsylvania, woman was charged with felony animal cruelty after authorities said she did not provide veterinary care for her 11-year-old horse, who was later euthanized.
According to the Bucks County SPCA, Heather Fitzgerald was arrested on May 4, 2026, after she failed to provide adequate care for her horse, a Thoroughbred gelding named Brazilliant. Officials said the horse suffered painful conditions from untreated cancer that spread throughout his body, and equine veterinary specialists determined that euthanasia was the most humane outcome to end the Brazilliant’s pain.
