Cherokee County tornado sirens down as afternoon storms approach | How to stay safe

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The tornado siren system for Cherokee County is not working, the county’s Emergency Management Agency said Thursday.

“Cherokee County and its maintenance vendor have been working on a solution on an outdoor siren system outage, which affects all 58 outdoor sirens,” the agency said in a message to residents. “As Tropical Storm Arthur makes its way into Georgia, we want to make sure you are prepared and have ways to get notified in the event the issue has not been resolved.”
