Blessed Trinity pulls away from Sprayberry in second half

Coming into Friday night, Sprayberry coach Pete Fominaya saw the matchup with No. 2 Blessed Trinity as a privilege – to be able to compete with the state’s best.

For three quarters, his team made the most of their clash with the Titans, giving the early Region 6AAAAA favorites a scare. But down the stretch, Blessed Trinity’s quality prevailed, scoring 20 unanswered points in the second half for a 34-14 region win.

“That’s the best team in the state of Georgia,” Fominaya said. “I think you saw a lot of kids grow up tonight and rise to the challenge. We didn’t finish tonight, but we’ll find a way to finish. Really proud of our growth.”…
