Amarillo College honors Dr. Robert Bauman as Professor Emeritus

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Amarillo College will recognize Dr. Robert Bauman with the title of Professor Emeritus during a reception on April 20 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the upstairs lobby of the College Union Building on the Washington Street Campus.

According to officials with AC, the title of Professor Emeritus is reserved for faculty who “demonstrated exceptional service, leadership, and commitment to teaching throughout their careers.” Officials noted that Bauman has taught at Amarillo College for more than three decades and is known for his dedication to student success and ability to make complex scientific concepts accessible to all learners.

Bauman is a native of Amarillo and returned to his hometown after completing his education at Stanford University. AC noted he also served as the chair of the biology department before returning full-time to the classroom.
