2 arrested in Amarillo on drug charges following search of area hotel room

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Two people in Amarillo have been arrested for drug related charges after a search of an Amarillo hotel room turned up suspected drugs.

According to court documents, the Amarillo Police Proactive Criminal Enforcement Unit obtained a search warrant for a room at an area hotel.

Officials said a cooperating defendant claimed Joe Archuleta and Gabriel Kirkpatrick were allegedly selling fentanyl from a room in the hotel.

APD said officers found about 5,000 suspected fentanyl pills after searching the room. Archuleta and Kirkpatrick are facing one charge of “Possession with Intent to Distribute 400 grams or More of Fentanyl.”…
