Canyon has been officially recognized as an accredited city with Main Street America.
The Main Street program is a national, and soon to be global, initiative to revive, restore, and keep main streets up to a higher standard. Canyon has been a part of the program since 2002; however, the past three years, it has only been an affiliated program.
