An ax-wielding man who vandalized a smoke shop in Fullerton barricaded himself in the business, leading to an hours-long standoff before he was taken into custody, according to police.
The standoff began after the man entered the Rodeo Smokeshop on Orangethorpe Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday. While there, the man was armed with an ax and began to vandalize the business, the Fullerton Police Department said.
