ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The two dogs rescued in connection to an animal cruelty case in the Caswell Lakes area are recovering at the Borough’s animal care facility.
Woody and Birdie were both brought to the shelter in connection with a case where Misty Rehder faces 26 charges of animal cruelty. Rehder allegedly left 26 dogs, including Woody, on a property she rented, and 25 of them starved to death.
Birdie was forfeited in connection to the case because she was connected to the Caswell kennel, according to Mat-Su Borough authorities. However, Birdie was living at a home in Talkeetna with another person, so she was not underweight or starved like the other 26 dogs…
