Jessee pulls off Houdini-like escape, moves up to fifth among Alaskans for most Ks at Single-A

Brody Jessee was summoned from the Dayton Dragons bullpen on Friday to face the worst possible situation for a relief pitcher: bases loaded, no outs.

Somehow, some way, the Anchorage right-hander escaped the threat unscathed after retiring 2024 eighth-round draft pick Davis Diaz on a pop up and then striking out a pair of seventh rounders in Nate Nankil and Dylan Fien.

It was one of three scoreless innings thrown by Jessee, whose performance was the lone bright spot for the Dragons; so much so he was named one of three stars in a 10-0 loss to the Lansing Lugnuts in the High-A Midwest League…
