Big Ten announces adjustment to in-broadcast replay review process

After Michigan’s controversial Week 1 win over Western Michigan, the Big Ten is instituting a change to its review process. According to a report by Pete Thamel, the conference is expanding the in-broadcast replay review process for all television games starting this Saturday.

“The Big Ten is expanding the conference’s in-broadcast replay review to include all Big Ten games that are officiated by Big Ten crews. The league had announced all Friday games would have this access aspect, and they are now expanding to all home games officiated by Big Ten crews,” Thamel posted on his X account.

The goal is to make the replay reviews more transparent, allowing expanded access to live audio between replay officials and referees, as well as footage of what’s being reviewed…
